Saturday Writers Studio (Fall 2017)

Beginning October 7, Write253 and the Tacoma Public Library present the Saturday Writers Studio, an intensive six-week writer’s room for middle and high school students! Classes are free and are held at the Main Branch (1102 S. Tacoma Ave.)

Workshop dates: Oct. 7, 14, 21, & 28 and Nov. 4 & 18.

We are offering two classes:

Fan Fiction Write-In    11am-1pm
Meet up with other authors who love to write fan fiction. This casual write-in will be an opportunity to share what you are working on, to collaborate on stories, and to learn how to incorporate elements of fiction writing like plot, character, setting, tone, and conflict into your work. (This is a drop-in class; no registration required.)
Poetry and Spoken Word  2-4pm
Join other poets and spoken word artists for a weekly deep dive into forms of expression on the page and on the stage. Each week, we will look at contemporary poetry dealing with themes like family, place, and self, and will leave each session with new drafts in our writing books. Registration is required and space is limited. Sign up below:
