The Saturday Writers Studio is back! This winter, we are partnering with Tacoma Public Library to offer three writing classes, free and open to teens in Tacoma and surrounding areas!

SHORT HISTORICAL FICTION
Write253 and Tacoma Public Library are partnering with the City of Tacoma’s Landmark Preservation Commission and Creative Colloquy to offer Bringing Tacoma’s History to Life: A Youth Historical Fiction Competition. You can win cash prizes and get your story published on the Creative Colloquy website!

We will offer for drop-in writing sessions to get your story off the ground and ready to go.

SPOKEN WORD POETRY
Join Write253 teaching artist, slam coach, and spoken word artist Diante Taylor for workshops in writing and performing your work on stage. Learn more about how to get involved in Louder Than a Bomb-Tacoma: The Tacoma Teen Poetry Festival poetry slam in April!

ECOPOETIX
Write253 is partnering with Ocean Fest to put on workshops in ecopoetics (writing about humanity’s interaction with the natural world). Win prizes for the best poem (or the best film!) in the Ocean Fest Story Contest.

March 17 at Fern Hill Branch (765 S. 84th St.)

All workshops from 2-4pm.

Join us April 7 from 2-4 pm for the Louder Than a Bomb-Tacoma launch
at the Main Branch! Open mic!
