Our project is all volunteer, and most of us have full-time jobs. So, we appreciate donations of time, money and supplies. See below!
VOLUNTEER: Most importantly, volunteers are the heart and soul of Write253. As a volunteer, you’ll join a team of dedicated people who have unique talents, experiences and skills to share with our students. If you have the desire to help students, we’ll find a job for you!
Right now, we need volunteers to work with elementary, middle school, and high school students in all subjects, and especially with their writing. We are currently recruiting volunteers for the following programs:
- The in-school writing club at Baker Middle School.
- After-school writing club at Jason Lee Middle Schools.
- After-school writing and film club at First Creek Middle School.
- After-school writing activities and a blogging club at McCarver Elementary School.
- After-school writing club at Roosevelt Elementary School.
- Summer camp at our Hilltop writing center!
If you would like more information, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our volunteer application is on the website.
DONATIONS: We believe that all students, without exception, deserve a transformative education that combines creativity and literacy. If you support the work that we are doing, please consider making a monetary donation to Write253. All of our programs are free, and our staff is made up of volunteers, so any money that we raise goes toward buying supplies or paying for rent and utilities at our Hilltop writing center.

Your money will support our mission to enrich the writing experiences of students and adults in Tacoma. We have a great project, but we can’t do it without you. We promise to put your money to good use. Thanks!
ALL THAT EXTRA STUFF: We are always accepting paper, books, magazines, snacks, office and art supplies and anything else that our students and volunteers can put to use. Call Mary at 460-4474 to donate supplies.
